Draughtsman / Estimator (Entry‑Mid Level)

About the role

The Junior Draughtsman / Estimator will support the design team by producing 2D technical drawings, performing design calculations and preparing cost estimates for safety and construction systems. This position blends CAD drafting with estimation duties, offering a solid foundation for a career in construction design and cost engineering.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare 2D general arrangement drawings, fixing details and revisions under supervision.
• Translate project scopes, drawings and specifications into technically sound designs.
• Create safety and access system designs that meet relevant standards and regulations.
• Develop cost estimates, pricing breakdowns and project calculations for review.
• Independently prepare project costings up to the PKR equivalent of £25,000.
• Maintain accurate project and customer data in company systems.
• Review and verify designs and safety plans for accuracy and completeness.
• Support smooth hand‑over from quotation to project execution and ensure proper archiving of design documentation.

Required profile

• Diploma, HNC/HND or equivalent in Engineering, Architecture or Design.
• 1‑3 years of experience in technical drawing or estimation (entry‑mid level).
• Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
• Strong mathematical, spatial and analytical abilities.

Required skills

• AutoCAD (or similar CAD software) proficiency.
• Cost estimation and pricing calculation skills.
