Electrical Inspector for Switchgear & MCC

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Inspector specialized in Switchgear and Motor Control Centre (MCC) systems for a 12‑month contract. The role involves ensuring compliance with international standards and safe installation at refinery or petrochemical sites.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect and verify factory acceptance testing (FAT) and site acceptance testing (SAT) of switchgear and MCC assemblies.
• Witness and validate installation, alignment, and commissioning of LV and MV switchgear panels and MCC units.
• Conduct functional testing of motor feeders, interlocks, control wiring, and emergency stop functions.
• Verify Arc Flash labeling, IP ratings, and area classification requirements.
• Document findings and provide recommendations for corrective actions.

Required profile

• B.E. in Electrical Engineering with IEC certification or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of hands‑on inspection experience in switchgear and MCC at refineries or petrochemical plants.
• Thorough knowledge of IEC standards applicable to switchgear and MCC equipment.

Required skills

• IEC 62271, IEC 60439, IEC 61439 standards.
• Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) procedures.
• LV and MV switchgear panel inspection.
• MCC inspection and commissioning.
• Direct Online (DOL), star‑delta, soft starter, and Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) knowledge.
• Arc Flash labeling and IP rating verification.
• Area classification compliance.
