Electrical Manager – Power Plant

About the role

The Electrical Manager leads the Electrical Department of a combined‑cycle power plant, ensuring safe, reliable and efficient maintenance of all electrical assets. The role involves planning, budgeting, procurement and team development to meet plant availability, reliability and safety targets.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, schedule and execute both planned and unplanned electrical maintenance activities.
• Prepare and manage the department budget, procure materials and arrange external services.
• Assist the DGM Electrical in administering the maintenance section, KPI tracking and RIR recommendations.
• Coordinate closely with Operations, Performance and Maintenance departments to achieve plant targets.
• Conduct performance reviews, manage leave, overtime and staff deployment for odd‑hour shifts.
• Implement and enforce health, safety, environment and quality standards for the electrical team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 4‑5 years of experience in a Combined Cycle Power Plant, preferably as Assistant Manager or Deputy Manager.
• Strong knowledge of power plant processes, hazards, maintenance planning and energy management.
• Familiarity with local industrial regulations, power purchase agreements and commercial contracts.
• Proven ability to lead, train and develop an electrical maintenance team.

Required skills

• Power plant operations – Combined Cycle.
• Electrical equipment expertise: transformers, MV/HV switchgear, GIS, protection relays, LV/HV systems, motors and generators.
• Computer proficiency: Microsoft Office, Outlook, CMMS and SAP.
