Entry-Level Restaurant Accountant

About the role

The Junior Restaurant Accountant will manage daily financial transactions for a restaurant branch, ensuring accurate sales reconciliation, cash flow management, and expense recording. The role works closely with branch managers, cashiers, and store personnel to maintain financial accuracy and control food costs.

Key responsibilities

• Enter all daily financial transactions into the accounting system.
• Perform daily sales reconciliation by matching POS records with cash, card, and online receipts.
• Verify revenue reports and ensure correct deposit records.
• Monitor and control petty cash transactions.
• Record and verify operational expenses and maintain organized documentation.
• Coordinate with the store department for accurate stock consumption reports and assist in monthly inventory counts.
• Monitor food cost percentages and report significant variances.
• Prepare weekly and monthly expense summaries and financial reports.
• Support the Senior Accountant during monthly closing and manage bank transactions, including fund transfers and salary disbursements.
• Maintain daily cash flow and ensure audit‑ready documentation.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in restaurant, hotel, or retail environments.
• Familiarity with MS Excel, accounting software or ERP systems.
• Strong understanding of financial accounting and bookkeeping practices.
• Excellent communication skills, integrity, and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
