Executive Data Engineer – Digital Intelligence

About the role

The Executive DI – Data Engineer will design, develop and optimise enterprise‑wide data engineering solutions across GaussDB, Teradata, Hadoop and OBS ecosystems. You will build robust, scalable pipelines that feed the organisation's data warehouse, analytics and business intelligence platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Understand business requirements and design end‑to‑end ETL/ELT pipelines for data loading and transformation.
• Develop, maintain and optimise data pipelines on both on‑premise and cloud platforms.
• Investigate and resolve data‑quality issues and support operational incidents.
• Collaborate with client stakeholders to translate needs into technical solutions.
• Contribute to project planning, estimation, status reporting and proposal development.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 1–2 years of hands‑on experience in data engineering or analytics.
• Strong analytical mindset, attention to accuracy and ability to work under pressure.
• Effective communication skills for interaction with technical and business teams.

Required skills

• SQL query writing, joins, aggregations and basic optimisation.
• Programming proficiency in Python or Java.
• Familiarity with ETL/ELT concepts and tools.
• Experience with relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, Teradata, GaussDB.
• Exposure to big‑data technologies: Hadoop, Hive, Spark.
• Basic knowledge of Linux/Unix commands and shell scripting.
• Understanding of data‑warehousing concepts (fact/dimension tables, star/snowflake schema).
• Awareness of NoSQL/caching systems like Redis and MongoDB.
