Field Operator – Process Units (Refinery)

About the role

Pak-Arab Refinery Limited (PARCO) is looking for a qualified Field Operator to manage and monitor process units at its Mid Country Refinery in Muzaffargarh. The role involves ensuring safe, stable, and efficient operation of refinery equipment while adhering to strict safety and permit procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain process units and allied equipment within defined operating parameters.
• Follow the Permit to Work (PTW) system for safe hand‑over and take‑over of equipment during maintenance.
• Monitor and adjust process parameters to sustain safe and efficient operations.
• Execute safe start‑up and shutdown of plant according to standard operating procedures.
• Inform Shift Engineer/DCS Controller of any abnormal conditions.
• Maintain accurate logbooks and prepare shift reports.

Required profile

• DAE or B.Tech in Chemical Technology from a recognized institute.
• 1‑12 years of relevant experience as a Plant Operator in a refinery, petrochemical, or fertilizer plant (refinery experience preferred).
• Strong understanding of HSE systems, especially Process Safety Management.
• Good communication, analytical, problem‑solving and troubleshooting abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Distributed Control System (DCS) operation.
• Experience using SAP and MS Office applications.
• Knowledge of Process Units Operation Monitoring & Control.
• Familiarity with Process Safety Management and HSE procedures.
