Finance Expert

About the role

The Finance Expert will support the Portfolio/Corporate Development function by monitoring and analysing the financial and commercial performance of Group portfolio companies. The role provides high‑quality financial analysis, modelling and strategic insights to aid senior management, shareholders and investment decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and analyse financial and commercial performance, identifying drivers, risks and opportunities.
• Conduct detailed Quality of Earnings, EBITDA, Net Working Capital, Net Debt and cash generation analyses.
• Compare monthly and quarterly results against budget, forecast and prior‑year performance, highlighting variances.
• Develop and maintain financial models, cash‑flow forecasts and scenario analyses for planning and investment decisions.
• Support M&A and corporate development activities, including acquisition assessment, due diligence and investment papers.
• Prepare Board, Shareholder and Investment Committee materials, translating complex analysis into clear conclusions.
• Collaborate with CFOs, senior management and portfolio company teams to challenge assumptions and drive improvements.
• Monitor cash flow, working capital, leverage and liquidity across portfolio companies.

Required profile

• ACA, ACCA, CFA or equivalent professional qualification.
• 6 to 8 years of experience in similar finance, corporate development or investment functions.
• Proven ability to work independently on complex analyses and present findings to senior stakeholders.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel for financial modelling and large‑dataset analysis.
• Financial modelling and scenario planning.
• PowerPoint for creating senior‑level presentations.
