Finance & Operations Manager – QuickBooks, UK Finance, Remote

About the role

We are seeking a high‑calibre Finance & Operations Manager to own finance, accounting, business systems and day‑to‑day operations for an international UK‑based charity. This is a remote, permanent position that goes beyond bookkeeping, requiring strategic oversight of financial integrity and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily bookkeeping, manage external accounting team and ensure QuickBooks Online data accuracy.
• Maintain chart of accounts, handle accounts payable, supplier payments and international transactions.
• Prepare budgets, cash‑flow forecasts, management accounts, dashboards and variance analysis.
• Support year‑end accounts, external audits and UK statutory compliance (payroll, HMRC, pensions, supplier payments).
• Configure and optimise QuickBooks Online, SaaS platforms and CRM‑to‑finance data flows; manage integrations, automations and user permissions.
• Identify and improve inefficient operational processes, coordinate suppliers and internal administrative workflows.

Required profile

• Proven experience with UK finance and accounting processes, including payroll, HMRC submissions and statutory compliance.
• Ability to work autonomously, own the finance function and resolve problems end‑to‑end.
• Comfortable collaborating with international stakeholders and remote teams.
