Financial Controller

About the role

Kiran Foundation, a Karachi‑based non‑profit dedicated to education management, is looking for a Financial Controller to lead its finance function. The role will ensure accurate reporting, compliance with statutory and donor requirements, and provide strategic financial insight to support program delivery and growth.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full accounting cycle and prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and consolidations.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and cash‑flow planning to allocate funds efficiently and maintain reserves.
• Develop, implement and monitor internal financial controls, policies and procedures.
• Coordinate internal and external audits, prepare schedules and respond to auditor queries.
• Oversee grant and project accounting, ensuring proper treatment of restricted funds and timely donor reporting.
• Produce management reports and financial analyses to aid leadership decisions.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or controller role.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; ACCA/CA or MBA preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Pakistani accounting standards, statutory regulations and tax compliance.
• Proven ability to prepare financial statements, budgets, forecasts and manage cash flow.
• Experience in non‑profit or donor‑funded environments is an advantage.

Required skills

• QuickBooks or similar accounting software (e.g., Tally, SAP).
• Advanced Excel, including financial modeling.
