Financial Services Audit Manager

About the role

PwC is seeking a Manager to lead audit and assurance engagements for financial services clients in Pakistan. You will be responsible for delivering high‑quality, technology‑enabled audits that meet PwC methodology, professional standards and local regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, execute and complete audit engagements for banks, insurance companies, asset managers and other financial institutions.
• Develop deep understanding of client business models, products, systems, governance and regulatory environment.
• Assess significant risks, material estimates and judgments such as credit losses, impairments, fair values and regulatory capital.
• Apply International Standards on Auditing, IFRS standards and relevant Pakistani regulations (ICAP, SBP, SECP, AOB).
• Lead testing of business processes, internal controls and automated controls, coordinating with IT, actuarial and valuation specialists.
• Manage engagement economics, staffing, budgets, billing and escalation of quality or commercial risks.

Required profile

• Qualified Chartered Accountant, member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan.
• Minimum three years post‑qualification experience in external audit, preferably within financial services.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and ISAs, with practical exposure to IFRS 9; IFRS 17 knowledge is a plus.
• Understanding of Pakistani financial‑services regulations, corporate law and governance requirements.
• Proven ability to analyse complex transactions, exercise professional scepticism and deliver well‑supported conclusions.
