Financial Software Engineer (Remote)

About the role

We are looking for a Financial Software Engineer to join a global leader in financial services. The position is fully remote and focuses on building and maintaining core systems that handle real‑time financial transactions for millions of users worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimise backend services for high‑volume financial transaction processing.
• Integrate third‑party financial APIs and payment gateways in collaboration with cross‑functional teams.
• Implement security controls to meet financial regulations and data‑privacy standards.
• Write clean, maintainable code and ensure reliability through unit and integration testing.
• Troubleshoot production issues to minimise downtime and maintain system availability.

Required profile

• Proven experience with backend development using Java, Python or Go.
• Background in financial transaction systems, payment processing or related domains.
• Strong grasp of distributed systems, microservices architecture and API design.
• Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL or MongoDB.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP or Azure) and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
