Founding Product Engineer / Technical Lead

About the role

IntelCost is building an AI‑powered Preconstruction Operating System for contractors. We are looking for a founding product engineer who will act as a technical lead, helping move the platform from beta to commercial launch. This role blends system architecture, hands‑on development, and AI‑driven workflow creation.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement new platform capabilities, focusing on reliability, scalability, and performance.
• Shape product architecture and define the technical roadmap in close collaboration with the founder.
• Develop AI‑assisted document intelligence pipelines, including OCR, PDF processing, and knowledge retrieval.
• Build and maintain core backend services, database schemas, and API layers.
• Lead infrastructure decisions, covering cloud deployment, security, monitoring, and operational tooling.
• Mentor the engineering team, establish coding standards, and improve development processes.

Required profile

• Strong systems‑thinking mindset with the ability to solve complex infrastructure challenges.
• Experience working in fast‑paced startup environments and delivering production‑grade features.
• Comfortable reviewing architecture, guiding long‑term platform evolution, and collaborating directly with founders.
• Passion for AI‑driven construction technology and SaaS platforms.
