Full Stack Engineer (Node.js & React.js – Backend Heavy)

About the role

We are looking for a Full Stack Engineer who will primarily focus on building and maintaining robust backend services while also contributing to frontend features when needed. The role involves designing scalable APIs and data pipelines that support clinical or healthcare workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain web applications using React.js (frontend) and Node.js (backend).
• Design, build, and consume RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
• Create and optimise scalable Node.js backend services and data pipelines.
• Own database schema design, query optimisation, and data integrity for PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB.
• Implement authentication, authorization, audit logging, and data‑security practices compliant with HIPAA and GDPR.
• Write self‑documenting, handoff‑ready code with clear naming and inline comments.
• Leverage AI coding tools (e.g., Copilot) while reviewing and cleaning generated code.
• Collaborate with product and clinical stakeholders to translate domain requirements into reliable technical solutions.
• Participate in code reviews, define engineering standards, and mentor junior engineers.

Required profile

• 4+ years of professional software development experience, primarily backend‑focused.
• Strong ability to explain implementation decisions step‑by‑step.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for non‑technical audiences.

Required skills

• Node.js (async patterns, performance tuning, debugging).
• React.js.
• RESTful and GraphQL API design.
• Relational databases – PostgreSQL (preferred) and MySQL.
• NoSQL database – MongoDB.
• Cloud platforms – AWS, GCP or Azure.
• Containerisation – Docker and Kubernetes.
• Authentication, authorization, audit logging, HIPAA/GDPR compliance.
