General Ledger Accountant

About the role

PrepHero is seeking a full‑time General Ledger Accountant to join its remote finance team. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month‑end and year‑end close, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries and reconcile general ledger accounts.
• Support month‑end and year‑end closing activities, including financial statement preparation.
• Assist in the preparation of management reports and variance analysis.
• Collaborate with operations, procurement and other departments to validate financial data.
• Respond to audit queries and help improve accounting processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CMA) is a plus.
• Prior experience as a General Ledger Accountant or in a similar role.
• Experience in food, FMCG or service industries is beneficial.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables).
• Experience using accounting software or ERP systems.
• Knowledge of IFRS or GAAP and internal controls.
