General Manager, Airline Commercial Systems

About the role

Pakistan International Airlines is building a business-aligned technology division. As General Manager, Airline Commercial Systems, you will own the systems that fill the aircraft and earn the revenue, acting as the technology counterpart to the commercial organisation. You report to the Chief Information Officer.

Key responsibilities

• Run the passenger services and reservations estate, digital sales channels and distribution systems through which seats are sold directly or via agents.
• Run the pricing and revenue management systems, and the revenue accounting, proration and interline settlement systems that turn sales into recognised revenue.
• Identify and deliver initiatives for top-line growth, yield management and revenue optimisation, each with an owner and an estimated value agreed with the commercial business.
• Run the network planning, loyalty, cargo and customer communication systems supporting capacity decisions, customer retention, cargo revenue and passenger information.
• Deliver the airline's digital customer experience priorities across booking, payments, servicing and disruption, paired with product owners from the business.
• Protect revenue integrity from selling to settlement, reconciled with Finance.
• Direct the delivery performance of passenger service and distribution vendors.
• Work with the data and analytics function on customer and revenue data products.
• In the first six months, baseline direct sales, yield and distribution costs and bring forward revenue initiatives with owners and estimated value.

Required profile

• 15 years' experience in the airline industry, with an airline or a technology provider to airlines.
• Experience leading a technology function reporting to a C-level executive.
• Knowledge of the airline commercial value chain and industry standards for distribution and settlement.
• Proven delivery leadership in a product owner model, with priorities led by the business.
• Experience directing major airline system vendors and holding them to delivery performance.
• A degree in a relevant field.
