General Manager – Plant (Food Manufacturing)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced General Manager – Plant to lead a large‑scale frozen foods and meat processing facility. The role oversees end‑to‑end manufacturing operations, driving operational excellence, product quality and food‑safety compliance while meeting efficiency and cost targets.

Key responsibilities

• Lead overall plant operations, including production, planning and execution.
• Ensure production targets, efficiency metrics and cost controls are achieved.
• Maintain quality, food‑safety and regulatory compliance standards.
• Oversee production planning, scheduling and optimal resource allocation.
• Drive continuous‑improvement initiatives across all plant functions.
• Lead R&D initiatives to develop new products for local and international markets.
• Coordinate cross‑functional activities with supply‑chain, QA, maintenance and finance departments.
• Optimize manpower utilization and overall plant productivity.
• Develop and mentor high‑performing plant teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Technology/Science, Mechanical, Industrial or Chemical Engineering.
• 10‑15 years of experience in food manufacturing, preferably in frozen foods or meat processing.
• Proven track record of managing large‑scale plant operations and delivering business targets.
• Strong understanding of food‑safety, quality and regulatory requirements.
