Head of Engineering

About the role

Creative Chaos seeks a Head of Engineering to lead its engineering organization, set technical standards, and drive the delivery of high‑quality software solutions for its US‑based clients.

Key responsibilities

• Own all engineering staff, including hiring, performance management, and staffing decisions across client accounts.
• Define and enforce AI standards, architecture reviews, code reviews, testing, security posture, infrastructure, and tooling.
• Guide client relationships by advising on architecture, providing second‑opinion technical counsel, and ensuring delivery quality.
• Develop and execute a hiring plan for senior, AI‑native engineers with strong communication skills.
• Deliver training, workshops, and mentorship to raise engineering practices across the organization.

Required profile

• 8+ years of software development experience and 3+ years leading engineering teams.
• Proven ability to manage multiple client engagements or an in‑house org while maintaining technical depth.
• Comfortable challenging design decisions with clients and influencing senior stakeholders.
• Excellent written communication, especially for distributed teams serving US clients.

Required skills

• Hands‑on coding and code review experience.
• Experience with AI‑driven development tools and coding agents.
• Strong knowledge of software architecture, security, testing, and infrastructure.
• Ability to lead distributed and offshore engineering teams.
