Head of English Language Arts (American Curriculum)

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic Head of English Language Arts to design and lead the ELA programme for a new American‑style high school in Saudi Arabia. The role combines curriculum development, teacher mentorship and direct classroom teaching within a hybrid, technology‑enabled learning model.

Key responsibilities

• Design the Grade 9‑10 ELA curriculum (units, lesson plans, assessments, homework) for launch in Fall 2026.
• Lead, train and support a team of ELA teachers delivering content on the hybrid platform.
• Teach one online ELA section, aligning instruction with the newly created curriculum.
• Continuously refine lessons and materials using digital and emerging EdTech tools.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to improve curriculum, delivery methods and learning pathways.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience designing or delivering International American high‑school ELA curriculum aligned to CCSS.
• Experience teaching English to learners for whom it is a second language.
• Recognised teaching qualification (BA/MA in English, TESOL, CELTA, etc.).
• Native English speaker from an English‑speaking country.
• Reliable internet connection and professional video setup.

Required skills

• Proficiency with EdTech and digital learning platforms.
• Familiarity with AI‑driven educational tools (highly advantageous).
• Ability to work full‑time Sunday‑Thursday (GMT+3) with possible flexible half‑day schedule.
