IT Support Officer

About the role

The IT Support Officer will provide technical assistance to end‑users in Karachi, ensuring timely resolution of hardware, software and network issues while maintaining the overall IT infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and troubleshoot technical problems remotely and on‑site, managing servers, networks, systems and databases.
• Monitor system performance, conduct regular backups, and implement solutions to minimise downtime.
• Administer user accounts, permissions and access rights in Active Directory.
• Install, configure and maintain Windows, Windows Server and Linux operating systems, as well as printers, scanners and other peripherals.
• Maintain inventory of IT equipment, collaborate with vendors for hardware/software procurement, and keep software and anti‑virus solutions up to date.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT or related field (preferred).
• Relevant IT certifications and proven experience in troubleshooting hardware, software and network issues.
• Familiarity with networking concepts, protocols and basic configuration of Cisco and Mikrotik routers.

Required skills

• VMware, ESXi, VirtualBox virtualization platforms.
• Active Directory management (domains, OUs, groups).
• Windows, Windows Server and Linux operating systems.
• Microsoft Office suite.
• Hardware troubleshooting, printer/scanner configuration.
• Backup and anti‑virus administration.
