Java Support Engineer (Tier 1) – On‑site in Karachi

About the role

dotCMS is looking for a Tier 1 Java Support Engineer to investigate and resolve technical issues with its Java‑based content management platform. The position is full‑time, on‑site in Karachi, with a shift from 3 PM to midnight local time and includes on‑call rotation.

Key responsibilities

• Provide remote technical support for dotCMS products, interacting with clients via the ticketing system and occasional video meetings.
• Reproduce, isolate, and resolve customer‑reported issues, debugging Java, JavaScript and Apache Velocity code.
• Submit bug reports, build sample code, and deliver creative solutions to client problems.
• Participate in daily support stand‑ups, on‑call rotation, and contribute to support‑related development projects.

Required profile

• 2+ years of Java development experience (full‑stack a plus).
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical experience.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Fluent English, both spoken and written.
