Junior Fashion Designer

About the role

The Junior Fashion Designer will support the design team in developing collections, including bridal couture and luxury occasion wear, at the Arooj Aziz studio in Islamabad. This full‑time, on‑site position involves assisting in sketching, fabric selection, and embroidery layout development.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in sketching and conceptualising new designs and collections.
• Select fabrics, embellishments and contribute to surface and embroidery designs.
• Coordinate fittings, prepare technical specifications and collaborate with pattern makers and production teams.
• Maintain design archives, research trends and textiles, ensuring alignment with brand aesthetic and craftsmanship standards.

Required profile

• Foundational skills in fashion design, sketching and silhouette development.
• Knowledge of textiles, embroidery techniques and luxury couture detailing.
• Experience with fittings, sample handling and garment structure refinement.
• Relevant diploma or degree in Fashion Design or related field with a strong portfolio.

Required skills

• Basic proficiency with design tools such as Adobe Illustrator or similar.
• Good communication and collaboration abilities with artisans and production teams.
