Lecturer – Animation

About the role

The Institute for Art & Culture seeks a full‑time Lecturer in Animation to deliver high‑quality theoretical and practical instruction, develop students' creative and technical abilities, and contribute to curriculum development and departmental activities.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lectures, studio sessions, practical demonstrations and workshops covering 2D/3D animation, character animation, storyboarding, motion graphics and visual storytelling.
• Develop lesson plans, course outlines and assignments aligned with approved curriculum, integrating industry practices and emerging technologies.
• Guide students in creating animation projects, showreels, portfolios and final‑year works, fostering creativity, critical thinking and problem‑solving.
• Supervise development of 2D and 3D projects, short films and digital storytelling assignments, encouraging experimentation with new workflows and AI‑assisted tools where appropriate.
• Design and assess quizzes, practical exams, presentations and project‑based work, maintaining accurate academic records.
• Participate in curriculum review, research, student exhibitions, departmental meetings and quality‑assurance activities.

Required profile

• Master’s degree (MS/MPhil or equivalent) in Animation, Computer Animation, Digital Media, Film and Animation, Visual Effects, Multimedia Arts or a closely related discipline from an HEC‑recognized institution.
• Relevant teaching experience at a university or college is preferred; professional experience in animation production, digital content creation or visual effects is an advantage.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise student projects and a strong professional portfolio or showreel.

Required skills

• Proficiency with industry‑standard animation software such as Autodesk Maya, Blender, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Animate and Toon Boom Harmony.
• Strong knowledge of animation principles, timing, spacing, character movement and production workflows.
