Logistics Officer

About the role

CTG, a staffing and HR solutions provider for humanitarian and development work, is recruiting a Logistics Officer for Pakistan. The role contributes to the daily planning and coordination of WFP logistics operations, including monitoring services provided by contracted external organisations so that objectives are met cost-effectively. It also supports the development of logistics plans and processes in line with WFP standards.

Key responsibilities

• Support or manage logistics projects and operational activities that contribute to the delivery of food assistance to beneficiaries.
• Collect and analyse data to recommend actions to senior staff that improve local logistics performance.
• Carry out regular financial analysis and budget reviews and recommend ways to optimise fund use.
• Help prepare operational pipeline planning and manage supply chain aspects such as procurement, shipping, port operations, document and customs clearance readiness, loading and discharging, and contracting of transport, warehouse and other logistics services.
• Provide technical support to other CO units and divisions, especially for emergency response.
• Guide and supervise junior staff, and support capacity building of WFP staff and partners through training material design and review.
• Build relationships with logistics colleagues and staff in the area of assignment.
• Take part in emergency logistics preparedness, the Logistics Capacity Assessment, and act in an emergency response capacity as required.
• Review internal processes to improve efficiency and produce accurate, timely reporting including KPIs.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in Transport Economics, Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Business Management, Mathematics or a related field, or first degree with additional years of related experience.
• At least 5 years of demonstrable experience in commercial or humanitarian transportation sectors.
• At least 5 years of experience in Asia.
• Fluent English and fluent in the local language(s).
• Professional certification in Supply Chain Management is desirable.
