Maintenance Manager

About the role

Wärtsilä is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead the upkeep of its plant in Rawalpindi. The role focuses on ensuring maximum efficiency of equipment and driving continuous improvement in maintenance practices.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain plant operations at optimal efficiency.
• Oversee plant maintenance activities for the assigned facility.
• Coordinate with maintenance planners to ensure safe execution of tasks.
• Plan and implement preventive maintenance programmes.
• Manage contract processes and apply cost‑effective management practices.
• Identify and execute improvement initiatives for cost reduction and time optimisation.
• Prepare inspection and service reports within contractual timelines.
• Lead the maintenance team, assign tasks, and monitor job orders.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and ensure timely repairs.
• Enforce safe working practices and aim for zero breakdowns due to maintenance negligence.

Required profile

• B.E. in Mechanical Engineering with PEC registration.
• Minimum 12 years of experience in an IPP or similar industry.
• Proven experience maintaining HFO engines, steam turbines, air compressors, pumps, heat exchangers and overhead cranes.
• Strong knowledge of safety, environment, engine and electrical systems.
