Manager – Financial Services Audit

About the role

The Manager will lead the planning, execution and completion of audit and assurance engagements for financial services clients, ensuring high‑quality, technology‑enabled audits that meet PwC methodology and Pakistan regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Manage audit engagements from scoping to reporting, including risk assessment and audit strategy.
• Develop deep understanding of client business models, regulatory environment and financial‑reporting risks.
• Apply ISAs, IFRS standards and relevant Pakistani regulations (ICAP, SBP, SECP, AOB).
• Lead testing of business processes, internal controls and automated controls, coordinating with IT, actuarial and tax specialists.
• Oversee engagement economics, staffing, budgets and billing, escalating risks as needed.
• Coach and review work of assistant managers, senior associates and associates.

Required profile

• Qualified Chartered Accountant, member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan.
• Minimum three years post‑qualification experience, primarily in external audit and assurance.
• Relevant experience auditing financial services entities, especially banking, insurance or asset‑management.

Required skills

• Strong working knowledge of IFRS Accounting Standards and International Standards on Auditing.
• Practical exposure to IFRS 9; knowledge of IFRS 17 is desirable.
• Proficiency in audit technology, data analytics and Microsoft Office; experience with PwC audit tools is an advantage.
