Mechanical Engineer – Equipment Selection & Maintenance

About the role

The Mechanical Engineer will join Akber Ali & Sons’ engineering team in Karachi, supporting the selection, installation and maintenance of mechanical equipment for a diverse customer base. This full‑time, on‑site position works closely with service and spare‑parts teams to ensure reliable performance and high customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Review technical specifications and assist in recommending appropriate equipment.
• Perform pre‑delivery inspections, on‑site installations and routine maintenance.
• Support troubleshooting, repairs and the preparation of technical documentation.
• Collaborate with service teams to develop training materials for customers.
• Coordinate with international principals and internal stakeholders on engineering queries.
• Participate in continuous‑improvement initiatives to enhance service quality and equipment performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to work on‑site and travel to customer locations.
• Familiarity with industrial equipment, maintenance practices and safety standards is a plus.
