Mechanical Engineer – Manufacturing Operations

About the role

The Mechanical Engineer will lead manufacturing operations across one or more production lines, ensuring that volume, quality and cost targets are met. Reporting to the Manager Maintenance, the role combines hands‑on equipment maintenance with project execution and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain mechanical equipment such as pumps, gears, conveyors, sifters, dryers, elevators, mills, centrifuges, fans and compressors.
• Develop, schedule and execute preventive and condition‑based maintenance plans using SAP.
• Introduce smart maintenance tools and techniques to optimise resource utilisation.
• Manage project execution, including feasibility studies, BOQs, procurement and safe implementation of CAPEX/MOC projects.
• Implement EHS standards, conduct risk assessments and ensure a safe working environment.
• Identify cost‑reduction opportunities and recommend new equipment or methods.
• Develop and mentor the engineering team, fostering a culture of self‑motivation and best practices.
• Ensure compliance with electrical‑related legal and company policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 4‑7 years of hands‑on experience in operations and maintenance within petro‑chemical, fertilizer, process or food industries.
• Strong collaborative attitude and effective communication skills.
