Mobile Engineer – React Native (Remote)

About the role

Join Tether to develop and maintain Keet Mobile, a peer‑to‑peer chat and calling app for iOS and Android built with React Native and Expo. You will own features end‑to‑end, from UI/UX implementation to integration with the P2P core APIs.

Key responsibilities

• Build and polish features across chat, voice and video calls, media sharing, device pairing and identity backup.
• Integrate native platform capabilities such as push notifications, camera, biometrics and background tasks on both iOS and Android.
• Profile and optimise performance on real devices, including startup time, long chats, media handling, battery and network use.
• Write unit and end‑to‑end tests, and help keep releases stable through CI and crash reporting.
• Collaborate closely with core P2P, design and product teams, reviewing code with a high quality bar.

Required profile

• Significant experience with React Native, Redux and Redux‑Saga.
• Highly proficient in JavaScript and ES6+.
• Experience with WebSockets and RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with native languages (Swift/Kotlin) and build tools (Xcode/Android Studio) is advantageous.
• Experience working with remote teams and interest in modernising mobile applications.
