Ocean Freight Executive

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Ocean Freight Executive to manage daily sea‑freight import and export operations, coordinating with shipping lines, freight forwarders, customs brokers and customers.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate ocean freight shipments (FCL and LCL), arrange bookings and monitor vessel schedules.
• Prepare and process shipping documents such as Bills of Lading, commercial invoices and packing lists.
• Negotiate freight rates, free time and accessorial charges to optimise costs.
• Resolve customs holds, documentation discrepancies, demurrage and detention issues.
• Maintain relationships with service providers, obtain quotations and analyse carrier performance.
• Verify freight invoices, update internal systems and ensure compliance with trade regulations and Incoterms.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics or related field (preferred).
• 3‑5 years of experience in ocean freight, shipping, logistics or freight forwarding.
• Strong understanding of international shipping documentation, Incoterms, customs procedures and container logistics.
• Excellent communication, coordination and problem‑solving abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
