PHP Developer – Backend & API Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a skilled PHP Developer to design, build, and maintain server‑side applications. The role focuses on developing robust backend logic, managing databases, and ensuring seamless integration with front‑end components.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain PHP‑based web applications and reusable modules.
• Design and optimise MySQL database schemas and queries.
• Integrate third‑party APIs and payment gateways.
• Collaborate with front‑end developers to integrate user‑facing elements.
• Implement data storage solutions such as key‑value and blob stores.
• Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve performance and architectural issues.
• Maintain clear documentation and stay updated with modern web technologies.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of PHP frameworks (e.g., Laravel, Yii) and MVC design patterns.
• Understanding of synchronous PHP behavior and object‑oriented programming.
• Basic proficiency with front‑end technologies (JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3).
• Familiarity with web security, accessibility standards, and common server exploits.
• Experience with user authentication, authorization, and integrating multiple data sources.
• Ability to design scalable applications and create database schemas supporting business processes.
