PHP Software Engineer – Remote

About the role

FullStackFullStack is looking for a PHP Software Engineer to join its talent network and work on U.S. client projects remotely. You will become an integral part of the client’s development team, collaborating daily with designers and engineers to deliver high‑quality software.

Key responsibilities

• Integrate into the client’s team and contribute to ongoing development tasks.
• Maintain and improve legacy PHP applications while ensuring production stability.
• Design, develop, and refactor backend services using PHP, CakePHP and the LAMP stack.
• Build and consume REST APIs and integrate third‑party services.
• Collaborate on frontend features using JavaScript, jQuery and React.
• Deploy, monitor, and optimize applications on AWS (EC2, RDS, S3).
• Participate in code reviews, Git workflows, and Agile/Scrum ceremonies.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of professional software development experience.
• Advanced English communication skills.
• Completed a four‑year college degree.
• Proven ability to work remotely and manage a 40‑hour work week.

Required skills

• PHP and frameworks such as CakePHP.
• LAMP stack (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP).
• JavaScript, jQuery, React.
• Node.js for backend services.
• MySQL schema design and query optimization.
• AWS services (EC2, RDS, S3).
• Git (branching, pull requests, code reviews).
• Jira and Bitbucket.
• CI/CD pipelines, Docker.
• REST API development and integration.
• Agile/Scrum methodology.
