Principal .Net Engineer

About the role

Systems Ltd is seeking a Principal .NET Engineer to design and build distributed, resilient, and highly scalable enterprise systems. The role focuses on durable execution platforms, workflow orchestration, and event‑driven architectures.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high‑quality software using modern .NET and .NET Core technologies.
• Build and support long‑running business workflows with state management, fault tolerance, and recovery capabilities.
• Develop distributed systems that coordinate work across multiple services, applications, and external integrations.
• Implement resilient solutions with retry policies, failure recovery mechanisms, and idempotent processing.
• Create event‑driven and message‑based architectures using asynchronous communication patterns.
• Refactor and modernize existing systems to improve scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, product owners, and stakeholders on complex distributed solutions.

Required profile

• 6+ years of hands‑on experience developing applications with C# and .NET/.NET Core.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems principles and cloud‑native design.
• Production experience with workflow orchestration platforms such as Microsoft Orleans, Temporal, Azure Durable Functions, Akka.NET, Dapr Actors, Cadence, Netflix Conductor, or Erlang/OTP.
• Experience with event‑driven architecture, Apache Kafka, Azure Service Bus, RabbitMQ, event sourcing, CQRS, and saga patterns.
• Proficiency in building cloud‑native applications on Microsoft Azure, including Azure Functions, AKS, Redis, and related services.
• Familiarity with microservices, CI/CD pipelines, Azure DevOps or Git workflows, and Agile/Scrum environments.
