Principal Software Engineer, Dev

About the role

ibex. is looking for a technically strong Principal Software Engineer to lead the design, development, integration and deployment of enterprise‑grade AI‑powered voice and digital agent solutions for clients. The role blends deep software engineering expertise with AI agent development and client‑facing technical leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical design and architecture of AI‑powered voice and digital agent solutions for enterprise clients.
• Work directly with clients and stakeholders to translate complex requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Design conversational architectures, including agent personas, prompts, workflows and business rules.
• Develop integrations using TypeScript/JavaScript, REST APIs, webhooks, SDKs and JSON interfaces.
• Establish reusable components, frameworks and integration patterns across multiple implementations.
• Mentor engineers, conduct architecture reviews and drive engineering best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field.
• 5‑7 years of software engineering or technical solution delivery experience.
• Proven experience leading design and delivery of complex software or AI solutions.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Required skills

• Strong hands‑on expertise in TypeScript and JavaScript.
• Experience with REST APIs, webhooks, SDKs, JSON, Git and SQL/databases.
• Practical experience with Generative AI, LLMs, conversational AI, prompt engineering, RAG and AI agent architectures.
• Knowledge of low‑code/no‑code AI platforms and extending them via custom engineering.
• Understanding of integration architecture, authentication, data flows and enterprise system integration.
• Familiarity with voice and telephony concepts such as SIP, IVR and call routing (desirable).
