Principal Software Engineer - Node

About the role

Creative Chaos is seeking a Principal Software Engineer specialized in Node to lead the development of server‑side applications and RESTful APIs. You will ensure high performance, security, and reliability while mentoring a team of engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of software engineers, providing training and guidance.
• Analyze business requirements, estimate tasks, and write clean, well‑tested code.
• Develop and maintain backend components, RESTful APIs, and database schemas.
• Optimize code for security and performance, and resolve existing issues.
• Maintain version control, update issue tracking, and communicate progress to clients.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 6‑8 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to evaluate candidates and contribute to hiring decisions.

Required skills

• JavaScript, Node.js, Express.js, NestJS.
• Design and implementation of RESTful APIs.
• Relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB).
• Unit testing with at least 90% coverage.
• Version control (GitHub) and project tracking (JIRA).
• Understanding of security standards and accessibility compliance.
