About the role
Provide coordination, administrative services and research to support efficient procurement services for the World Food Programme.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate and administer procurement projects, reviewing and prioritising purchase requests.
- Identify and recommend potential suppliers, compile supporting documentation and assist in negotiations.
- Prepare purchase orders, contracts and related documents for approval and approve purchases within delegated authority.
- Resolve issues related to delivered goods by liaising with stakeholders.
- Research, collect and analyse data to produce reports for procurement decision‑making.
- Maintain and update procurement databases and records.
- Supervise support staff and ensure alignment with internal programmes.
Required profile
- Secondary school completion; a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Procurement, Economics, Supply Chain Management, Contract Law, International Development or related field is desirable.
- Minimum six years of experience in procurement, contracting, supply chain or related technical fields.
Required skills
- Familiarity with locally purchased commodities and cash‑based or in‑kind donations.
- Experience conducting supplier research and coordinating with retailers, wholesalers and traders.
- Knowledge of procurement processes and their linkages with logistics and other operations.
