Procurement Manager – Automotive Industry

About the role

The Procurement Manager will lead end‑to‑end procurement and supply planning for indirect materials, localized CKD parts, consumables, spares, capital equipment and services. The role ensures uninterrupted manufacturing through strategic sourcing, vendor management, inventory planning, import logistics and cost optimisation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement strategies for indirect materials, spare parts, consumables, capital equipment and services.
• Lead strategic sourcing initiatives to achieve sustainable cost savings and optimisation.
• Conduct spend analysis and create category‑wise sourcing plans.
• Manage procurement of CKD parts, plant consumables, maintenance spares, capital machinery, imported parts and general services, including AMCs.
• Evaluate supplier quotations on commercial and technical criteria and recommend suppliers.
• Monitor inventory levels, optimise stock and minimise excess.
• Build and maintain an approved supplier base, qualifying new vendors and conducting performance evaluations.
• Oversee import procurement and logistics, coordinating freight forwarders, clearing agents and customs documentation.
• Negotiate and administer service contracts, ensuring compliance and quality.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Planning, Quality, Warehouse, Finance and Logistics to guarantee material availability.
• Prepare procurement performance reports and maintain accurate records.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Automotive or Industrial Engineering.
• MBA in Supply Chain is a plus.
• 10‑12 years of relevant experience in the automotive industry.
• Proven expertise in strategic sourcing, negotiation and cross‑functional coordination.
• Strong financial acumen and advanced cost‑analysis capabilities.
• Understanding of automotive components and manufacturing processes.
