Project Engineering Specialist – Flood Reconstruction Programme

About the role

The Project Engineering Specialist will lead the planning, design, implementation and monitoring of civil works for the Flood Reconstruction and Coordination Programme in Quetta district, Balochistan. The role involves technical oversight of construction, stakeholder coordination and support to donor engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of feasibility studies, designs, Bills of Quantities and cost estimates for civil infrastructure projects.
• Oversee procurement processes, prepare tender documents and evaluate bids in line with UNDP procurement policies.
• Manage contractors, monitor construction progress, ensure compliance with contract terms and quality standards.
• Provide technical inputs and briefing materials for donor engagement and respond to technical queries.
• Supervise and mentor a team of UNDP field engineers, assigning tasks and ensuring adherence to engineering standards.

Required profile

• Relevant engineering degree (civil, structural or related) with several years of experience in infrastructure project implementation.
• Proven experience in managing civil works contracts, procurement and monitoring in a development or humanitarian context.
• Ability to work closely with government authorities, donors and local stakeholders.
