Project & Piping Engineer – Machine Shop

About the role

Novatex Limited is seeking an experienced Project / Piping Engineer to lead technical activities across projects, fabrication, machine shop operations, and plant maintenance within its Poly & SSP plants. The role combines project planning, execution, and supervision of fabrication and maintenance work while ensuring compliance with HSE and ISO standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and execute projects from initiation to closure, monitoring schedules and budgets.
• Supervise machine shop and fabrication workshop activities to guarantee quality and timely delivery.
• Oversee preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance programmes for plant equipment.
• Manage work permits, job orders, purchase requisitions, service requests and related SAP activities.
• Monitor welding, piping, CNC machining and radiography works according to engineering standards.
• Coordinate with contractors, suppliers and internal departments to resolve issues and ensure smooth execution.
• Track project costs, progress and schedule compliance.
• Validate contractor invoices, prepare justifications and liaise with finance and audit teams.
• Control spare parts inventory, manage material procurement and follow up on dead stock.
• Ensure strict adherence to HSE requirements, PPE usage and ISO procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in petrochemical or process‑industry projects and maintenance.
• Proven experience in project management within a plant environment.

Required skills

• Project management in petrochemical/process plants.
• Fabrication, welding, piping, CNC machining, radiography and testing standards.
• Hands‑on experience with SAP or similar computerized maintenance/material management systems.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Project and MS Office applications.
