Protection & GESI Assistant

About the role

The Protection & GESI Assistant will support ACTED Pakistan’s programme in Sindh by ensuring that gender equality, social inclusion and safeguarding are fully integrated into project activities. Working under the Deputy Team Lead and the Protection & GESI Specialist, the role oversees field operations, monitors compliance, and contributes to safe, dignified service delivery for vulnerable communities.

Key responsibilities

• Identify gender, protection and safeguarding risks and develop strategies to adapt programme activities accordingly.
• Provide technical inputs to embed GESI, protection and safeguarding considerations across all project components.
• Design and implement capacity‑building plans for staff, including periodic monitoring of compliance with safeguarding standards.
• Track safeguarding issues, ensure appropriate follow‑up, and promote awareness of ACTED’s reporting mechanisms within communities.
• Support programme design and review to ensure alignment with ACTED’s protection, GESI and donor requirements.
• Collaborate closely with the Technical Lead for Protection and GESI to implement safeguarding protocols in intervention areas.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience implementing protection and GESI‑related projects, including capacity development and strategy formulation.
• Strong understanding of GESI principles and a commitment to promoting inclusion and equality.
• Knowledge of best practices in knowledge management and sharing.
• Willingness and ability to travel across intervention areas in Sindh.
