Remote Data Protection Officer – Privacy Compliance

About the role

We are seeking a Remote Data Protection Officer to lead privacy compliance for a global IT services and consulting leader. The contractor will design, implement, and oversee data protection strategies across international markets, ensuring that personally identifiable information is handled securely and in line with applicable regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain data protection policies and procedures aligned with GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA and other privacy laws.
• Conduct regular audits, assessments and Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) to verify compliance.
• Act as the primary point of contact for internal teams and external stakeholders on data protection matters.
• Monitor, report and mitigate data protection risks, recommending corrective actions.
• Deliver training and awareness programs on privacy best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Law, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Relevant certifications such as CIPP/E, CIPM or CISSP are preferred.
• Proven experience with DPIAs and privacy‑by‑design frameworks.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities to identify compliance gaps.
