Remote Tax Accountant (EA/CPA)

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Tax Accountant with an EA or CPA credential to join a global accounting leader on a remote, contract basis. You will be responsible for preparing and reviewing federal and state tax returns for both individuals and businesses, ensuring compliance and accuracy across multiple jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for individuals and businesses.
• Maintain compliance with current tax laws and regulations.
• Research complex tax issues and provide actionable recommendations.
• Maintain client records and documentation in line with tax standards.
• Communicate with clients to gather necessary information and resolve discrepancies.

Required profile

• Enrolled Agent (EA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification.
• Minimum of 3 years experience preparing individual and business tax returns.
• Strong knowledge of federal and state tax codes.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency with tax preparation software such as TurboTax.
• Proficiency with tax preparation software such as Drake.
