Robotics Research Engineer (Remote)

About the role

This remote position focuses on shaping how embodied robotics data is collected, structured, and used to advance AI training and perception systems. You will work with top‑tier research teams to design data formats, collection methods, and evaluation frameworks that power the next generation of robotic learning.

Key responsibilities

• Define and standardize robotics data formats, schemas, and benchmarks for consistent data representation.
• Design and implement innovative data collection methods, including human demonstrations, teleoperation, and multi‑sensor integration.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to align robotics data pipelines with model training requirements.
• Evaluate datasets for diversity, scalability, and impact to ensure high‑quality contributions to AI systems.
• Prototype experiments and tools for efficient data gathering, leveraging best practices from leading robotics labs.

Required profile

• 2–5+ years of experience in robotics R&D, data engineering, or applied research.
• Degree in robotics, computer science, electrical engineering, or a related technical field.
• Strong communication skills for collaboration across engineering, AI research, and data science teams.

Required skills

• Robotics data formats such as RGB‑D, IMU, pose, and language.
• Design and implementation of data collection methods (human demonstrations, teleoperation, multi‑sensor integration).
• Experience with robot perception and control algorithms.
• Data‑driven learning methods and data pipeline engineering.
• Working with multimodal schemas and benchmarks.
