Sales Officer

About the role

The Sales Officer will drive new business growth by prospecting, qualifying, and closing opportunities with both new and existing customers. Using a consultative selling approach, the role focuses on building strong client relationships and delivering tailored solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Actively prospect and acquire new clients through cold calling, networking, field visits and referrals.
• Conduct market research to identify business opportunities and trends.
• Achieve and exceed sales targets, contributing to overall organisational success.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships by understanding business needs and providing customised solutions.
• Conduct regular follow‑ups to ensure satisfaction and identify upselling or cross‑selling opportunities.
• Stay updated on product features, benefits and industry trends to communicate effectively with clients.
• Provide product demonstrations and presentations to prospective clients.
• Prepare regular sales reports and forecasts, highlighting progress and areas for improvement.
• Analyse market trends and competitor activities.
• Lead negotiations, address objections and close deals successfully.
• Prepare and present proposals, contracts and agreements.
• Coordinate with production and logistics to ensure optimal inventory levels and flow.
• Implement strategies for timely recovery of sales cash and work with finance to resolve payment issues.
• Monitor accounts receivable to maintain healthy cash flow.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing or a related field.
• 2 to 3 years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrable track record of over‑achieving quota.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
