Senior Backend Architect – Lead-Level AI-First Role

About the role

We are seeking a highly senior backend engineer to lead architecture and delivery of AI‑first backend services. This is a high‑ownership, fully remote position where you will turn ambiguous product needs into production‑ready solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and own backend services using NestJS and TypeScript, from schema to production.
• Make independent architecture decisions focused on scalability, maintainability, and reliability.
• Build and maintain GraphQL APIs across a microservices environment.
• Own database design, optimization, and reliability for PostgreSQL.
• Define technical direction and enforce quality standards for both AI‑generated and manually written code.
• Translate ambiguous product requirements into clear technical solutions.
• Contribute to system design, infrastructure decisions, testing strategy, and developer productivity.
• Operate in an AI‑first workflow while maintaining strong engineering standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Lead Engineer or Architect, with a track record of independent architecture decisions.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, high‑accountability environment.
• Strong judgment around security, performance, and reliability.
• Ability to use AI tools to accelerate research, planning, implementation, testing, and refinement.
