Senior Backend Engineer (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join a global technology leader on a contract basis. The role is fully remote and focuses on designing, building, and maintaining scalable backend systems for high‑traffic applications. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to deliver reliable, high‑performance solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimise backend services using modern languages and frameworks.
• Implement and maintain APIs, databases, and micro‑services architecture.
• Troubleshoot and resolve performance bottlenecks, bugs, and system failures.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well‑documented code following best practices.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment processes to ensure high‑quality deliverables.
