About the role

We are building an AI‑powered cashier monitoring and theft‑prevention system for retail environments. As a Senior Computer Vision / MLOps Engineer you will design and implement the core AI pipeline that turns video footage into actionable event evidence.

Key responsibilities

Develop hand detection and movement tracking models.
Monitor cash‑drawer zones and detect cash or object movements.
Identify suspicious hand actions and dwell‑time near drawers.
Generate classified events, confidence scores, and review video clips.
Analyse false‑positive/false‑negative cases and continuously improve model performance.
Prepare the system for future edge‑AI deployment.

Required profile

Strong practical experience building end‑to‑end AI systems, not just research prototypes.
Comfort with real‑world video challenges such as poor angles, lighting changes, occlusions, and low‑quality footage.
Ability to evaluate models rigorously and communicate limitations honestly.
Experience turning messy data into production‑ready pipelines.

Required skills

Python
PyTorch or TensorFlow
OpenCV
YOLO‑family object detectors
Video analytics and frame‑by‑frame processing
Object detection and custom model training
Multi‑object tracking (ByteTrack, DeepSORT, StrongSORT, BoT‑SORT)
Hand/keypoint tracking (MediaPipe Hands or custom models)
ROI/zone‑based event logic
Temporal behavior detection over short video windows
Dataset preparation and annotation workflows (CVAT, Label Studio, Roboflow)
Model evaluation using precision, recall, false positives, and false negatives
NVIDIA Jetson, TensorRT, DeepStream (nice to have)
RTSP / ONVIF camera stream handling (nice to have)
Edge AI deployment experience (nice to have)
AWS or GCP cloud services (nice to have)
FastAPI or Flask for model APIs (nice to have)
MLOps tools such as MLflow, Weights & Biases, DVC (nice to have)
