Senior DevOps Engineer (AWS)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to own and evolve our AWS platform that supports .NET and React products. You will work across frontend, backend, QA and infrastructure teams to ensure reliability, security and cost‑effectiveness.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain multi‑account AWS environments (VPC, subnets, NAT, Transit Gateway, Route 53) for dev, QA, staging and production.
• Run containerised .NET workloads on ECS (Fargate & EC2) behind ALB and API Gateway, and support serverless components such as Lambda, SQS, SNS, EventBridge, Step Functions and DynamoDB.
• Define all infrastructure as code using Terraform or AWS CDK, enforce code reviews and manage state safely.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps or AWS CodePipeline) with blue/green, canary deployments, automated rollbacks and database migrations.
• Implement observability with CloudWatch, X‑Ray and OpenTelemetry, define SLOs, lead incident response and conduct blameless post‑mortems.
• Manage security and compliance using IAM, AWS Organizations, Secrets Manager, WAF, GuardDuty, Security Hub and AWS Config.
• Track and optimise AWS spend through tagging, rightsizing, Savings Plans and monthly reporting.
• Mentor developers and junior DevOps engineers, write runbooks and enable self‑service deployments.

Required profile

• 5+ years in DevOps, SRE or cloud infrastructure roles, with at least 3 years operating production workloads on AWS.
• Hands‑on experience with ECS, ALB, API Gateway, Lambda, SQS, DynamoDB, Aurora MySQL, Cognito, CloudWatch and VPC networking.
• Strong Terraform or AWS CDK expertise, including module design and remote state management.
• Proficiency in Docker, CI/CD pipeline creation and scripting (Bash plus Python, PowerShell or C#).
• Solid Linux administration, networking fundamentals and production on‑call experience.
