Senior Forward Deployed Engineer

About the role

Nysonian is seeking a senior engineer to own and evolve its internal systems, including production infrastructure, CRM, and AI‑agent tooling. This high‑autonomy position requires you to identify problems, design solutions, and drive implementation while raising engineering standards across the team.

Key responsibilities

• Own the architecture, health, and feature development of the internal CRM platform built with NestJS, MongoDB and PostgreSQL.
• Lead production infrastructure strategy on AWS (EC2, ALB, S3, Route53, IAM, VPC) and Linux environments, including nginx reverse‑proxy, SSL/TLS, firewalls and load‑balancer routing.
• Design, build, and maintain MCP servers and automation scripts (Bash, Python, Node.js) that enable AI agents to interact securely with internal systems.
• Direct incident response, root‑cause analysis, and post‑mortem processes for critical production issues.
• Mentor junior engineers, set documentation standards, and define Git/CI‑CD workflows.

Required profile

• 4+ years building and maintaining backend systems, preferably with NestJS/Node.js.
• Deep, hands‑on experience with AWS architecture and expert‑level Linux server administration.
• Strong networking expertise (DNS, TLS/SSL, reverse proxies, firewalls, load balancers).
• Extensive work with PostgreSQL and/or MongoDB, including schema design and performance tuning.
• Proven track record of large‑scale automation/scripting and incident response leadership.
