Senior Game Developer

About the role

VGA is expanding its gaming vertical with a flagship social fantasy football platform for the MENA region. As a Senior Game Developer you will own the interactive, animation‑rich layer of the product, delivering console‑like experiences on iOS and Android.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement 2D/3D Unity scenes for card collections, pack openings, match‑day cinematics, leader‑board celebrations and reward sequences.
• Optimize performance for mobile devices, including draw‑call reduction, texture compression, battery impact and 60 fps targets.
• Integrate Unity‑as‑a‑Library scenes into a Flutter mobile shell, handling communication bridges and asset lifecycle.
• Collaborate with motion designers, UI/UX engineers and backend teams to wire live match data to animations.
• Maintain reusable visual systems (card frames, rarity tiers, transition libraries) for future VGA products.

Required profile

• 4+ years of professional Unity game or interactive development experience with at least one shipped mobile title.
• Strong sense of game‑feel, timing and visual quality, able to differentiate high‑impact animations.
• Self‑directed, collaborative and comfortable participating in code reviews, sprint planning and design critiques.

Required skills

• Unity 2020.3 LTS or newer, C#, MonoBehaviour, Coroutines, ScriptableObjects, Addressables, Asset Bundles.
• Animation systems: Animator, Timeline, state machines, blend trees, IK, animation events.
• Shader development (HLSL/ShaderLab, Shader Graph) for holographic effects, glows, particle systems.
• Mobile performance profiling (Unity Profiler, Frame Debugger, Xcode Instruments, Android GPU Inspector).
• UI development in Unity (UGUI or UI Toolkit) and integration with Flutter via Unity‑as‑a‑Library.
• Version control (Git), CI/CD practices and build pipelines for iOS and Android.
