Senior Legal Research Specialist (Remote)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Legal Research Specialist to work remotely on a contractual basis for a leading technology and AI client. The role blends deep legal analysis with emerging technology, helping shape compliance and governance frameworks for AI-driven products.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive legal research using primary and secondary sources, including case law, statutes, regulations, and legal treatises.
• Analyze complex legal issues and produce written summaries, memos, and recommendations for policy, product development, and risk mitigation.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and other legal professionals to embed legal insights into technical processes.
• Assess legal implications of emerging technologies, algorithms, and data‑processing practices to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of developments in AI governance, data privacy, intellectual property, and sector‑specific regulations.

Required profile

• Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent legal qualification from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 3 years post‑qualification experience in legal research, preferably within technology, AI, or a high‑growth commercial sector.
• Strong analytical ability to interpret and synthesize complex legal and technical documents.
• Experience researching AI‑related legal issues such as algorithmic accountability, bias, transparency, or regulatory compliance.

Required skills

• Proficiency with legal research databases such as Westlaw, LexisNexis, and Bloomberg Law.
• Familiarity with AI tools or platforms used to assist in legal analysis.
